The protective cage is part of overall safety

The task of protective cages is simple: to prevent unauthorized access and falling, and to make movement safe. In practice, this means correct dimensioning, functional connections, and structures that last year after year. We always look at the protective cage as part of the whole. Over 50 years of experience from industrial and demanding projects shows in that solutions meet regulations and also work in everyday life.

How LK Porras protective cages are made

Protective cages are designed according to the project’s requirements and manufactured in our own production facility. Each structure goes through a clear quality control process, where dimensioning, connections to buildings, and finishing are checked before delivery.

Modular structure facilitates transportation and speeds up installation even in tight or high locations. CE-certified operations and necessary documentation are in order, and they don’t need to be dug up afterwards

Modularity is our strength

Our own design ensures fast progress in the ordering phase. Illustrative images are clear, so the structure of the protective cage and its suitability for the project are easy to see.

When the solution is clear from the start, changes are avoided during the installation phase and the construction site stays on schedule.

Installation is also handled with our own crew if necessary. When design, manufacturing, and installation are the responsibility of the same operator, the whole stays under control and the schedule holds

Protective cage cladding

The protective cage frame is always a standard, modular structure. The frame can be clad with different materials, as a standard product we offer three different options. The choice of cladding is affected by the use of the protective cage or protective enclosure, whether the project needs weather protection, visual appearance, or access prevention.

LK Weather protection perforated sheet covering

With this perforated sheet, due to the small hole size, good weather protection is achieved for the access route. Snow cannot accumulate on the stairs.

The perforated sheet is always hot-dip galvanized and it can be painted in your desired RAL shade. Please specify the shade in your quotation request, more special shades significantly affect the price

LK Access prevention mesh 30x30x3

Choose welded mesh 30x30x3 when you want to prevent unauthorized users of the access route and the project does not need weather protection.

The mesh with its frame is always hot-dip galvanized and it can also be painted in RAL shades. Please specify the shade in your quotation request!

Customized cladding

Didn’t find an option you liked from the standard products? No problem, we also manufacture the product with your desired cladding or deliver just the frame that you can clad yourself. Ask our salespeople for more information!

Different models of protective cage

A protective cage can be used to clad different shaped spiral stairs and straight stairs. The lightest version is the so-called 1/4 protective cage, which has a door in front of the first step and cladding at 90° along the spiral staircase steps. At the other extreme, a protective cage clads a spiral staircase in a tower building wall up to full height. In between, there are still protective cages that are not intended to clad the spiral staircase or straight staircase completely, but for example, prevent access to the stairs for one or two floor heights.

LK-U-safety cage

Choose welded mesh 30x30x3 when you want to prevent unauthorized users of the access route and the project does not need weather protection.

The mesh with its frame is always hot-dip galvanized and it can also be painted in RAL shades. Please specify the shade in your quotation request!

LK-O-safety cage

O-shaped protective cage works and looks good especially with a spiral staircase! You can choose the door for the frame as right- or left-handed.

LK-straight wall/N-safety cage

Protective cage with straight walls works with both straight and spiral stairs.

LK-1/4 protective cage

The cage door is in front of the first step and cladding at 90° along the spiral staircase steps. Prevents unauthorized access to the stairs with a lightweight solution.

Surface treatment and additional information

Protective cages are basically always hot-dip galvanized, but we can also provide painted claddings. Choose the color of the protective cage according to the project.

Powder coating according to RAL color chart possible, special colors by agreement
In painted products, fasteners are hot-dip galvanized/stainless steel
Painted products are standard in semi-gloss shade, unless otherwise agreed
The surface of hot-dip galvanized and painted products is not completely smooth, so please take this into account when ordering stairs
