LK Porras Design System – from design to implementation

LK Porras Design System (LKDS) is our way of combining design, dimensioning, and production into one functional whole. With it, stair solutions progress quickly from the quotation stage to implementation without unnecessary hassle or guesswork.

Why does LKDS exist?

In stair solutions, problems rarely arise in manufacturing. They arise when design and implementation don’t speak the same language. Unclear dimensioning, missing details, and last-minute changes slow down the entire project. LKDS has been built to eliminate these problems. Over 50 years of experience from various projects has been compiled into a system that makes solutions immediately feasible – not just theoretically correct.

How LKDS works in practice

LKDS combines LK Porras’s own design service, dimensioning rules, and production into the same whole. Solutions are modeled and checked at an early stage so that the whole works structurally and productionally.

Illustrative, dimensionally accurate images are included already at the quotation stage (see example here), so decisions don’t need to be made based solely on numbers or assumptions. When the solution is approved, it moves directly to production without intermediaries.

Speed without rushing

LKDS is not a quick fix, but a way to do things in order. Modern design tools and a clear process enable quick response to changes without the whole falling apart.
